Bohemia Interactive has released a new developer diary for Arma 3 Apex. The upcoming expansion for the game features a 100 km² fictitious South Pacific island called Tanoa.

The expansion features 13 new weapons that range from classic to state-of-the-art gear. "We think of the weapons in Apex as an interesting mix of old meets new. So our setting seas are paramilitary criminal factions armed with some pretty classic weapons. Things that we, and we know, our community have been looking forward to see in Arma for a while." said Jay Crowe, Creative Director at Bohemia Interactive.

The new weapons include the AK-47, RPG, Spar 16 and CAR-95, though not all of them have been revealed yet. The expansion also features atleast 10 new vehicles, including the civilian propeller plane, the waterscooter and several LSV, or light strike vehicles, drones and a MB 4WD all-terrain jeep.

In the video the developers also shed light on the expansion's new co-op campaign. The campaign will be connected to the game's original campaign with all missions scaling in difficulty based on the number of players.

The expansion is scheduled to release this summer.
