Nintendo has announced Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch. The game is a new 3D Mario platform game.
In this new game Mario has jumped out of the mushroom kingdom into an "unknown landscape". The game world will feature locations based on real life, including New York City.

The new game is the sequel to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine as it allows players to freely explore a new 3D world.
Whether the new game will make use gyro sensors included in the Nintendo Switch JoyCon controllers is still unknown.
The game is expected to launch in the holiday season, meaning that it will not be one of the console's launch titles.
