The popular Battle Royale shooter game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has hit the 3 million concurrent players milestone on Steam. The game surpassed Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Grand Theft Auto V.
In PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 100 players battle against each other on several large open world environments to become the last man standing.
When players start the game they parachute down from an airplane to a location of their choosing to gather equipment and weapons. Because of the high number of players per server enemies are never far away.
As the game continues players are forced to move to a specific area of the large open world environment to avoid being killed by the game. The end game is an intense firefight where the last remaining players go head to head.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds recently made its way out of Early Access, despite featuring several issues that still hinder gameplay.
