Guildwars 2 developer Arenanet has announced it will be releasing the games quarterly update this coming Tuesday, April 19th. The update is expected to reduce the grind that the game's first expansion, Guildwars 2: Heart of Thorns, introduced. Players had to farm items for several weeks in order to upgrade their guild's "guildhall", also a feature that came with the expansion, which in turn caused the price of several key items to soar on the game's ingame "trading post".
Also expected to come with this update is the release of several changes to the game's World versus World gamemode. Changes to this gamemode have been requested for years but have mostly been ignored while the developer of the game focused on releasing more content for the game's other two gamemodes PvE and PvP. Changes to World versus World include new rewards, population imbalance fixes and map changes.
The last big expected change is skill balance which the developer is keen on revising every quarterly update. While in the past the developer has revealed the contents of the update prior to release it has instead chosen to keep the update under warps leaving fans of the franchise waiting anxiously for it's release this Tuesday.
