Rockstar Games has announced that it has delayed the western game Red Dead Redemption 2. The game was scheduled to launch this fall.
According to a recent statement, the development studio states that it needs more time to develop the game. On paper, the game is the sequel to original Red Dead Redemption that was released in 2010, though it is unknown what storyline the second Red Dead Redemption game will follow.
The new game will feature "an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland" set in a vast and atmospheric world. The game will also feature a brand new online multiplayer experience for which the studio registered a domain name last October.
“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
To comfort the disappointed fans the studio has also released several new screenshots that showcase the studio's progress since the game's announcement last year.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now scheduled to launch in the spring of 2018 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A PC release has not been announced yet.
