The development team behind the game engine Unity has announced a new interactive tech demo titled "Book of the Dead". The demo demonstrates the engine's capabilities.
According to the recent announcement, the new tech demo will show Unity's new Scriptable Render Pipeline, which is said to provide enhanced customizability of Unity's rendering architecture, putting more control in the hands of the developers.
The "Book of the Dead" demo combines elements of both film and games. A teaser trailer was released earlier today which is said to be representative of the actual gameplay experience.
The environments featured in the demo are built in a way that allows the player to move around and explore. The camera is a continuous first-person camera, and when the player is teleported to a different location, the transition feels like a cinematic cut.
The "Book of the Dead" demo is expected to be released later this year.
